Jake is a terrified single father. He just wanted to show support for his community and to have a fun filled day with his daughter at the local high school's BBQ that he heard about on the radio. He never imagined his visit would result in seeing his daughter cooked alive and eaten and then hiding for what remains of his shattered life. Jake is upset to say the least.

JAKE
(whispering)
Help me.

SCOOPHOUNd
What? Can you speak up? it's hard to hear you if your whispering. It sounded like you said help me.

JAKE
I can't speak any louder. I don't want them to find me.

SCOOPHOUND
What's going on?

JAKE
Well let me tell you, you idiot. You suggested that people head over to the high school for a barbecue.

WILL
They haven't run out of brisket have they?

JAKE
I AM the brisket. Or I will be if they get their hands on me. That woman said to bring down a donation. I am ONE of the donations.
(crying)
Oh god. They took her. They took her. She screamed so much when they put her on the coals. And the smell.

SCOOPHOUN
DWho did they take?

JAKE
My daughter. They took my daughter. They made me watch. They said the fear and emotional pain was some kind of way of tenderizing my meat.

SCOOPHOUND
Wait. What are you talking about? This was the barbecue at the high school?

JAKE
(angrily)
You moron. This is your fault! They are barbecuing people. They served my daughter up on an altar for the bumblebee's football team. They were muttering something about gaining strength through the community.
(crying)
They ate her. They ate my baby girl. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, baby.
(angrily and loudly)
If I somehow make it out of here I'm going to find you and kill you myself, Scoophound. You piece of shit I will kill you.

SOUND: door opening

JAKE
(hushed)
Shhhh, they're here.

SOUND: footsteps

REBECCA
Shug? I know you're in here. Why don't you come on out and enjoy this barbecue with everyone. I'm sure your daughter would absolutely LOVE for you to join her.

SOUND: running footsteps

REBECCA
It's ok boys. I know your hungry. Let's just let him come on out on his own. We don't want to rough him up. We might bruise that delicious meat. We wouldn't want that at all now would we, Hun? Awwwww, there you are. Now you ain't got nothing to be afraid of. We just wanna make sure these boys here win the big game tonight. They can't do that without the support of their community now can they.

JAKE
Please! Please don't do this. Just let me go.

REBECCA
Now shug, you know we can't do that.

JAKE
Get away from me! Get away!

REBECCA
(annoyed)
Now I am losing my patience. I'm gonna give you to the count of three to come with us before things get ugly.

JAKE
No no no no.

REBECCA
One.

JAKE
Please! I'm begging you!

REBECCA
Two.

JAKE
Why are you doing this? Just let me go!
(a short pause)

REBECCA
Three.
SOUND: Scuffling

JAKE
(screaming)
No no no no!
(muffled screaming)
